complaints

Anyone can make a complaint about a City of York Council service. This could be where you’re unhappy with the service you’ve received or you feel the service could have done things better.

All young people under the age of 18 are entitled to the support of an advocate when making a complaint. An advocate from Speak Up can help you with making your complaint, and can support you throughout the complaints process. If you would like an advocate to support you with a complaint, please contact speakup@york.gov.uk or 07769 725174.

You can make a complaint about a council service yourself by contacting Have Your Say on 01904 554145 or haveyoursay@york.gov.uk.

You can find out more about the complaints process on the Have Your Say leaflet.
