Speak Up youth

Speak Up Youth is a youth club for any young person in care aged 11-16 (or up to 19 with disabilities or additional needs).  You can get involved in games, arts, crafts, sports... whatever you choose to do! We sometimes have workshops as well. We’ve had a drama workshop run by York Theatre Royal and a football workshop run by York City Football Club!

Speak Up Youth is part of York’s Children in Care Council. As well as having activities such as arts, crafts and sports, Speak Up Youth is also a participation group. This means that you have a chance to tell us what you think about things that are important to you. This might be telling us what like and don’t like about services, helping to design posters and leaflets or telling us how workers can do things differently. Your views are really important and help to make things better for all young people in care.

Speak Up Youth runs fortnightly at Moor Lane Youth Centre on a Thursday evening during term time.
